Why ZSA Rec Program?

Fall - Mid September to Mid November (12 weeks)
Spring - Mid February to Mid May (12 weeks)

ZSA Rec program is entirely led by ZSA coaches and does not involve any parent coaches such as other Rec programs in the area. This approach provides high-quality and consistent individual and team soccer skills while keeping it fun and age-appropriate. Parents are allowed to enjoy watching their kids play and learn, leaving the training to experts at playing, teaching soccer skills, and instilling the love of the beautiful game.

ZSA Rec Program is divided into several age divisions:


ZSA Rec U7 World Cup Program (The birth year 2016 and younger) – This Rec program is designed to introduce the game of soccer to young players, teaching them the fundamentals of soccer and the love of the game. Players will be assigned a World Cup Team and play in-house games on Saturday. Teams will compete in a 3v3 or 4v4 format.

Practice:
Tuesday and Thursday (6-7:30pm) on SJS Caven Field

Games:
Towards the end of practices (7-7:30pm) on SJS Caven Field

ZSA Rec U9 Champions Program (The birth year 2014 and younger) – This Rec program is designed for players that want to continue developing their individual and team soccer skills in a more relaxed competitive environment. Players will be assigned to a ZSA Champions Team that will compete in the Rise Desire League. Teams will compete in a 5v5 to 7v7 format.

Practice:
Tuesday and Thursday (6-7:30pm) on SJS Caven Field.

Games:
Saturday at McGovern Field or South Campus playing in the Rise Desire League

ZSA Rec U10/U11 Plus Program (Birthyear 2012 and younger) – This Rec program is geared to older players interested in developing their individual and team soccer skills in a more relaxed competitive environment. Players will be assigned to a ZSA MSL Team that will compete in either the Rise Rec League. Teams will compete in a 9v9 format.

Note: Minimum of 11 players needed to form team.

Practice:
Tuesday and Thursday (6-7:30pm) on SJS Caven Field.

Games:
TBA – Games played locally within Bellaire/WestU area.

ZSA Rec Uniforms:

ZSA Rec Uniform Kit is required per annual season. ZSA Rec Uniform Kit is an additional cost to registration and league fees. More information under Uniform Kit Tab.

Location:

The ZSA Rec program practices at St Johns School Caven Field and plays games in the Bellaire, West University and River Oaks area of Houston.

REGULAR TRAINING

Rec U7 World Cup Program – Practice Tuesday and Thursday evenings (3 hours per week)
Rec U9 Champions Program – Practice Tuesday and Thursday evenings (3 hours per week) + Games on Saturday
Rec U10/U11 Plus Program – Practice Tuesday and Thursday evenings (3 hours per week) + League games

GAMES

Rec U7 Program – Games last half hour of practice (ZSA World Cup In-House League)
Rec U9 Program – Games on Saturday late morning to late afternoon (Rise Desire League)
Rec U10/U11 Plus Program – Games TBA (Rise Rec League)
